Minister of Health and Social Protection of Ajara, Nino Nizharadze, attended the regional conference held within the framework of the “International Week of Nurses and Midwives” and took part in the award ceremony for outstanding nurses.

“Thank you to each nurse for their responsibility and professionalism. Special thanks to the outstanding nurses who have carried their love of the profession with dignity for decades. Their many years of continuous care are one of the most important pillars of the healthcare system,” noted the Minister, Nino Nizharadze.

The nurses were congratulated on their professional day and participated in the award ceremony by the Chairman of the Health and Social Protection Committee of the Supreme Council of Ajara, Ilia Verdzadze, the Minister of Education and Sports of Ajara, Maia Khajishvili, the Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Irakli Natroshvili, and representatives of the medical field.

The wife of the Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Sophio Bakuridze, congratulated the representatives of the medical field on their professional day and joined the award ceremony.

Within the framework of the conference, a certificate of appreciation and an unlimited package of financing for 30 credits of continuing professional education were awarded to 32 meritorious nurses of the region.​​​​

The conference on the topic - "National Platform for Professional Recognition and Development" was based on the recommendations of international professional organizations and aimed to support the development of the nursing and midwifery professions and strengthen human resources at the regional and national levels.

The event was organized by the "Union of Nurses", Batumi Medical University - "Avicenna" and Batumi Medical Academy.
